Buzz Rickson’s ‘Jeep Cap’ – Olive

Adopted by the U.S. Army in 1941, the wool “Jeep Cap” was issued to soldiers serving in harsh winter conditions. Its rib-knit crown and short brim allowed it to be worn comfortably under the M-1 steel helmet, while the folded band could be pulled down to protect ears and neck. Buzz Rickson’s recreates this military icon in Japan using pure wool and authentic six-panel construction, complete with reinforced seams and a shape-retaining visor. The cap carries a size label “M,” but is designed as a one-size-fits-most model, true to the original issue standard. Initially favored by jeep drivers and infantrymen across Europe, it remains a functional and timeless symbol of American fieldwear—built for warmth, comfort, and authenticity.
