Orgueil OR-1113 Coalminer Moleskin Trousers - Black / Wide Tapered
Moleskin was the backbone of French industrial workwear starting in the 19th century. Known as "velours d’usine" or "toile de travail," it proved indispensable thanks to its dense, abrasion-resistant weave that offered warmth and protection against wind. Black moleskin became the unofficial uniform of coal miners, and the classic "pantalon de mineur" – their traditional work trousers – is honored by Orgueil with their Coalminer Moleskin Trouser. The fabric develops a deep luster and a supple drape with wear, and the black tone shifts between charcoal and navy, depending on the light – creating an unreal visual depth.
The design is rich in heritage details: hand-shaped smiley back pockets, two side adjusters with embossed metal buckles, suspender buttons, and a coin pocket hidden in the curved waistband. Reinforced slash pockets adorned with arched seams, striped cotton pocket lining, and a button fly with matte black nut buttons complete these trousers, which are loaded with character.
The wide fit offers comfort while maintaining a slightly tapered silhouette. Can be worn with suspenders or a belt.
Built for heritage, designed for today – these trousers are as timeless as they are distinctive.
